Nikon AR-2 Braided Shutter Release – Classic Cable for F, F2, Nikkormat

This is my trusty Nikon AR-2 braided shutter release—originally picked it up for use with an old black Nikkormat FTN I ran with a motor-free setup. Works perfectly with Nikon F, F2, and classic Nikkormat/Nikomat bodies that use the mechanical collar-style release.

That classic braided metal sheath feels right—solid, reliable, and far less flimsy than the rubber cables you find today. Threading is smooth, and the plunger has a nice clean travel. No fraying, no gunk in the threads, nothing binding. Just a proper mechanical release like they used to make.
